Creating a Sacred Space for your Spiritual Practice

The Importance of a Spiritual Practice

For nearly 40 years, I have had a daily spiritual practice. Sometimes it has taken hours and sometimes only five minutes. The important thing seems to be that I dedicated a portion of my day to my spirit, and evoked the power of God in my life. I continuously call in the Divine Light and do my best to continue my prayers throughout the day, so there will be a minimum of separation between my daily world and my spiritual life.

Before You Write

Writing a book is a lot like getting married.  It is intensely  personal, it calls for a big commitment, and it requires a sustained effort.  And like marriage, it carries no guarantee of success.
Books and marriages often fail for the same reasons.  The most common reason is that the writer doesn’t know enough about the four essential  components of a successful book.  It may surprise you to know that the first and most important of these components is the self.

What Is a Spiritual Creative?

By Dr. Linda Seger

Most of us who are in the arts define ourselves as creative. Many of us who are also committed to a spiritual life may have heard the term “Spiritual Creative,” and used it to identify ourselves. What does it mean? Why is it an important term as a motivator for our creative lives?

A Spiritual Creative is someone who feels called, or led, or guided to do their artistic work by a higher power. They serve this higher power by “trying to get out of their own way.” This interference is often referred to as ego. Many Spiritual Creatives feel that ego can muffle the Voice of the Spirit.

Courage is not the absence of fear, it is resistance to fear. Courage is the conscious decision to move through the fear toward the objective.  James holds a supervisory position at a medium-sized professional firm. He is frequently called upon to do presentations to staff and clients, but makes every effort to avoid these speaking opportunities. James suffers from fear of public speaking, but will not admit it, even to himself. He chooses to bury the fear in denial. When on rare occasions he is forced to speak before a group, he dreads it, and suffers immeasurably before, during, and after the event.

Get Back Into Life

Overcome the Four Stages of Joy Stealing

By Marjorie Wolter

Amy’s heart went out to her friend Sally who had become a life coach in reverse.   Watching Sally’s actions was a lesson plan in what not to do if you want to live a happy life.  “I’m a magnet for idiots.  I can never catch a break.  You just don’t know how bad things get for me,” she would lament.
