Insanity…..

July 25th, 2009

Albert Einstein once said that “insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

In my opinion (and feel free to comment and share your opinion too!) this concept can be applied to many different areas of life. As I don’t believe that insanity is strictly related to when a person loses their capacity to think clearly and must be institutionalized….I feel that is an extreme situation and an entirely different topic…

When I refer to Einstein’s quote on insanity I am referring to things that happen over and over again in the lives of so many people, that they have almost become commonplace.

For example, if a person is overweight, says they are “trying” to lose weight and yet continues to make Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s a daily part of their eating habits, isn’t that a form of insanity?

What about the person who complains about being financially strapped and yet when offered a job or opportunity to earn income without it effecting what they already have in play (ie: a part time job that will work around their other obligations with flexible hours), they say “no thanks.”

Or those who have medical conditions that can be alleviated with proper medical care and yet they don’t follow simple doctors recommendations?

In order to achieve something different, to have a lifestyle that is different than what you currently have, to earn an income that is greater than what you currently earn, to have a body that is currently different than the one you exist within now….you MUST step forward to do things that are different than what you have been doing up until this point in your life.

Change is not easy, we all know that. Let’s take a video game. One cannot expect to move from level one to level four overnight, as that is never going to happen…but taking action and practicing the little things each day will put you in a position to become better at level one and with time, to move to level two, then by practicing at level two, you move to level three and before you know it, you’ve mastered level four!

This concept applies to a healthier lifestyle. Any trainer or health coach will tell you that the best way to transition from coach potato eating bon-bons to a lean-toned, healthy food eating individual is by adding healthier foods to your diet, removing the bad foods and by beginning a work-out routine. This could be as simple as walking 10 or 15 minutes a day and building from there. Anyway you slice it, it is physically impossible to go from living a life that has made you overweight, non-exercising and junk food eating to competing in the Mr. or Ms. Universe bodybuilding competition overnight. Life just doesn’t happen that way.

The same concept applies to earning a larger income. There are two main options available when people decide they’d like to earn more money. Option one is to get another job and option two is to become self-employed (either thru network marketing or direct sales). The job option is pretty self-explanatory. The second option, network marketing or direct sales is a bit more involved. Either way though, the key factors are the same. Decide what you are passionate about and do something EVERYDAY to move in that direction. Invest in yourself and others will be drawn to invest in you too!

Change is not easy, but it IS possible!

Each day we awake with the ability to make millions of decisions on how to move forward in life, these decisions are YOURS to make in regards to YOUR own life, no one else is walking in your shoes or living for you, it’s all YOU!!

So what decisions are you going to make today?

Be healthy, be focused and be the best you that you can possibly be!

In gratitude,
Caryn
