What is my life purpose?

February 7th, 2011

I had certain life-changing experiences at an early age which have become a light on my path that guides me through life. I remember vividly the moment when I experienced simultaneously being in/out of my body, empty/full, being all that was around me without separation.

It was the first time that I had experienced what I now have come to know as the state of non-duality.” This propelled me on a life-long journey to discover what that spontaneous experience really meant and to answer the question of how that incredible state could be attained and made more permanent. This, in turn, led me to question the nature of existence and to deeply inquire into questions such as, “Is there a purpose to Life and if so, what is it?” and “How and where do I fit?”

Over the years I have discovered that the answers are and have always been within me and that my task is to find ways to access these. Some answers have come through a direct experience of Grace, while many others have been through my experiences with the many people who have taught me so much throughout my life. I am grateful and humbled to be traveling this journey.

I have discovered along the way as I have gone through my own transformational process and participated with others that there are three fundamental beliefs about ourselves that goes to the very core of our existence.    We either don’t feel that we are enough, or we are not worthy, or we don’t matter.  While each of these dynamics manifests similarly it is usually only one that drives and motivates us in our life and relationships.  Years back I had a profound experience of this very thing.  My core belief was that I was not worthy of being heard or seen.  How that showed up in relationships was very subtle from mumbling under my breath but just enough for the person I wasn’t happy with to hear it, to guilt tripping and on and on.  These are just some of the little things we do to undermine our relationships and our ability to be authentic.  When I had a direct experience of this it changed me forever at a cellular level.  It was like seeing a movie reel of my life and seeing how this belief was a common thread and driving force behind everything I did.  Based on my own experience, life changing transformation can only occur at a cellular level.  It has been scientifically proven that our cells have memory.  So it only makes sense that real change must happen there.

In my own practice I work with men and women who seek deeper connection in their relationships and want to break through the barriers and behaviors that sabotage them.  It is the difference between having a relationship and being in a state of relating and communicating.
