Today I am picking up a 2010 Chevy Malibu to test drive for 30 days courtesy of the North Texas Chevy Dealers as part of the Girlfriend Getaway DFW campaign*.

*The Girlfriend Getaway DFW campaign is being sponsored by North Texas Chevy Dealers who gave the chosen blogging women a 2010 Chevy Malibu to test drive for one month and blog about our experiences using the vehicle.  Girlfriend Getaway has given us some fun missions to accomplish while driving the Malibu and will be providing us with gift cards to allow us to do this.*

I arrived in Dallas to pick up the 2010 Chevy Malibu thanks to my husbands directional ability as I normally get lost driving the DFW highways.

Gabe and Monte from Moritz Chevrolet in Fort Worth presented me with a beautiful fully loaded 2010 Malibu in mocha steel metallic color scheme with two-toned brown and tan interior which I believe they call “Cocoa/Cashmere”  to me it feels like the comfort of coffee and hot cocoa wrapped up in one delicious vehicle.  This car is yummy!

Gabe reviewed all of the goodies the Malibu holds, telling me there is much more to the car than what meets the eyes. We spent about thirty minutes going over everything and man this car is LOADED!

Being five foot eight, one of the most important adjustments is the seat and steering wheel arrangement as there is nothing worse than feeling cramped in the drivers seat or having kids feet kicking behind me.  None of those issues exists in the Malibu.  In fact, I had to scoot the seat forward a bit to absorb some of the excess leg room and my daughter who has the tendency to rest her feet on the back of my seat to gain some space, was pleasantly situated in the backseat behind me with plenty of legroom of her own.

We finished the basic introduction to the vehicle and Gabe presented me with the keys and two other surprises….first he had programmed the On-Star Navigation System with the address of my destination for my return trip and secondly he had Radio Disney, my daughter’s favorite station, as a pre-set on the radio.  Directions and quality music to keep a nine-year-old occupied?  It doesn’t get much better than this!

My daughter and I hit the road during rush hour traffic and the 50 mile drive home was quite an experience.  On-Star Navigation led us home without my getting lost or having to call my husband for assistance.  The system is pre-programmed and simply beeped in momentarily between Radio Disney songs to guide me on my way. 

The highway road noise was minimal and much quieter than my Honda.  The leather seats are heated and I couldn’t resist giving them a try.  Very comfortable and definitely a goodie I can become accustom to using daily.

The aux. plug in the back seat area kept my daughters DS game system running and she was so content that I did not hear her utter one “mommy are we there yet?” comment during the entire hour long drive.

My initial reaction to the 2010 Chevy Malibu is positive and I’m excited to drive it for this next month and share my thoughts and opinions with you.

I also suggest that you visit your nearest Chevrolet Dealer and test drive the Malibu personally.
