What Sandwiched Boomers Can Learn from Tim Russert
By Phyllis Goldberg, Ph.D. & Rosemary Lichtman, Ph.D.
There were non-stop tributes to Tim Russert when he died – from erudite political friends to strangers traveling long distances to pay their respects. He was the toughest interviewer in broadcast journalism and few had come even close to rattling him. He clearly understood how the media game is played. Because he knew an awful lot more, think about what you can learn from his legacy and then apply to your life:

RESOLVING CONFLICT PEACEFULLY by John Wilder
Fighting comes naturally, peacefully resolving conflict does not. I am sure that you can remember all too well fights that you have had in your own relationship. That dysfunction can be screaming, throwing things, cursing and/or hitting a spouse.
Leaving the internet world!
June 2nd, 2010
In March of 2009, I opted to remove myself from the online world for 34 days and reset my mind, body and soul. I learned several lessons during this initial process including:
1. The internet is highly overrated when it comes to social interaction, being with people in person is much more exciting and energizing.
2. Many people use technology (ie: chat, texting, email) as a means to escape real human interaction and contact. Deep, meaningful relationships cannot be developed on the internet. Yes, people can meet and greet, but the requirement for human contact is a great one and should be encouraged and nutured.
