Why Goalonaries Don’t Exist

By Marjorie Wolter

Liam was at a breaking point.  Economic pressures at work and home were unrelenting.    He was used to having a clear sense of how to be a winner for his company but the game had changed.  For the first time, Liam hadn’t a clue about how to pull a success out of thin air.  More than well trained, he was disciplined at goal setting and achieving, but the market conditions he depended upon to chart his course had been decimated.  How could he assemble a new roadmap without any landmarks?  What had been a hyper-speed success trajectory felt like it was ready for a nosedive.  Only one thing could alter Liam’s crash and burn mentality: a vision of success in spite of the apparent chaos in his industry.

It Was Finally Time to Overcome Guilt

by George Torok

The year I turned 50 was the year I tackled a bigger milestone: the 25 years I had denied myself a motorcycle.

There are two milestone dates for me this year: 50 years and 25 years.

Let’s get the less significant one out of the way first. I reached 50 years of age. Though, of course, I thought about it, I didn’t make a big deal about it. It just did not seem important.

The Power of Positive Affirmations

by Laureen Falco

I’ve been a spiritual seeker for many years now and I’ve always been interested in reading books about spirituality, self-improvement, healing and learning as much as I could for quite some time. I feel like I’ve been blessed by aligning myself with some of the best spiritual teachers through workshops and individual counseling sessions. I’ve had to overcome a lot of obstacles in my life, due to family issues, and I needed a lot of guidance.

5 days without a television

Last Friday evening I had a wonderful dinner with a friend who shared with me that when she and her husband met years ago they had one television set in their home and a small black and white one in the closet outside.  They rarely watched television and when the main TV broke they did not replace it.  Instead if something was important enough for them to want to watch it, they would go outside and pull the small black and white television from the closet, hook it up and have to sit close enough to see the picture on the miniature screen.  Years later they have a television but mainly watch movies on their computer instead of TV shows.  During this conversation I realized how much I had fallen back on having the TV on in the background recently and that my productivity was decreasing as days passed.  I decided right then and there to cut out television totally from my daily life and I voiced my intention to my friend who supported me in my endeavor.
