Focus on Progress, not Perfection

By: Marti MacGibbon, CADC II, ACRPS

Heather, is a manager at a publishing company, prides herself on her extremely high standards, even jokingly referring to herself as a “perfectionist,” but she has difficulty meeting deadlines. During brainstorming sessions with her staff, Heather yearns to unearth new discoveries and innovations, but dreads making even the smallest mistakes, putting a damper on creativity. She tends to take on only familiar challenges in order to guarantee that she will excel. Recently Heather noticed she has difficulty relating to and encouraging her subordinates. She longs to be able to inspire them, but finds she can see only flaws in their work.  Since Heather is also self-critical, she is tense and rigid when embarking on new projects, putting a clamp on productivity.

Passions into Profits

by Cynthia Brian

Are you passionate about your business?  If not, why not?   People who know their purpose and are passionate about living are happier, more fun-loving, have less stress and are more excited about every opportunity.  Do you know how to turn your passions into profits?

Here are a few tips that will assist you in living your dream.

1. Dream the dream. Don’t worry if it seems crazy or impossible. What do you love to do in life?  If you knew you could not fail, what would you tackle and who would you be? Dream big.

Let Go and Find That Fortune

Let Go and Find That Fortune

This is a challenge to all home based business owners. Go to your desk – sit down – gather all of the piled up business cards, hand written notes with names and phone numbers, pull out that binder of collected business cards, and print out names and phone numbers of everyone in your cell phone. Oh, and pull out that old school address book that you thought you would never use after you bought the cell phone.

Determination

March 29th, 2010

There is nothing quite like the determination of a child.  They set their minds to something and go for it.  The mind of a child does not see obstacles or hurdles to achieving the goal, they just aim and shoot and hit that target.

My 9 year old is living proof of this as a month ago she set a goal and tonight she not only achieved the first goal she set for herself, but she set a second higher level goal at the same time.

We can all learn something from our children…there is no such thing as failure…only experience gained along the way to our successes.
