New Years Resolutions

New Year’s Resolutions

At the beginning of the year, many people get inspired … to lose weight, start a business, write a book, or fulfill some other desire.  By the end of January, the desire may have faded, and by March it’s only a wish.

How can desires become goals?  The secret lies in creating a clear thought-image.  A goal is an image of the completed end result.  I heard recently that Wayne Dyer, a prolific published author, makes a “mock book” before writing.  He decides what he wants to title the book, makes a mock cover, and puts it around a blank book.  This helps him to visualize the completed book.

Shakespeare is known for the quote, “To thine own self be true,” from his play Hamlet.  People throughout history have yearned for the knowledge of how to be true to the Real Self.

Positive thinking…and Universal Law

Positive Thinking … and Universal Law

Why is it that some people seem to live a charmed life, receiving exactly what they want?
Why do other people never seem to fulfill their desires?
How can the same universe be benevolent in one case and seemingly indifferent in the other?

The truth is, it is the same universe.  The difference is in the thoughts of the person who expects to have what they want or the one who expects disaster at every turn.  Listen to your own thoughts … are you a positive thinker?  Do you expect the best or worry about the worst?

Envisioning The Day

February 8th, 2010

Have you ever noticed that whatever happens during the first hour of your day will normally set the tone for the remainder of your day?

Try stubbing your toe as you step out of bed and if you don’t make the conscious decision to shake it off, you may find yourself cussing and hopping around for awhile.

Taking a moment to imagine your day before you get out of bed is a simple way to maintain a positive focus, gain clarity and set short terms goals for the day.

The alarm clock sounds, you reach over to turn it off.
