Three Words
March 1st, 2010
What is the most important word or words in your life? Why?
Love. Gratitude. Forgiveness. I could live the rest of my life with only these three words and the emotions that accompany each of them.
Love. Unconditional caring on the deepest of levels by those who support me and want nothing more than for me to be happy, healthy and succeed in all I do.
Love. The feelings that two people who truly care about and trust each other, share in an unspoken manner. By looking into each others eyes, we both know that the other person will always be there, in good times and bad. Without judgment, without criticism, without question.
Love. The feeling of comfort a parent passes onto a child. The warmth found within partners embrace. The embers that are stoked enticing the fire to grow higher and hotter with each breath.
Love knows that you are accepted for who you are, false pretences aside, your heart, your soul and your spirit are as one in love.
Gratitude. The act of being thankful for all that you have received. From the smallest acts of kindness; a smile, a wave, a man holding the door. To the largest of gifts; a new home, a luxury car or special family vacation. Gratitude is at the core of life.
Gratitude. When I live in gratitude, nothing can go wrong for all I can see is the blessing that is coming my way.
Gratitude. My heart overflows with happiness when I am grateful. An invisible barrier against the negativity of others in the world is created around me, for nothing but beauty and joy are permitted to enter my life.
Gratitude. Being capable of saying “thank you” and letting others know that they are appreciated in my life. The positive energy always flows full circle.
Forgiveness. I’m sorry. Two words that I feel make the biggest difference in the world. It feels good to be able to say them and to receive genuine forgiveness in return.
Forgiveness. Allowing myself to move forward without the nagging feeling of anger that can accompany a wrongdoing. Either being angry at someone else or being on the receiving end of their anger. Anger festers and creates holes in relationships. Forgiveness mends all.
Forgiveness. Taking a deep breath and releasing the emotions tied to being upset with others or myself. Accepting that I am not perfect, none of us are, and that it’s okay to make mistakes as I walk this path called life.
Love. Gratitude. Forgiveness. The three most important words in my life.
I am grateful for the blessings in my life.
I will love myself and others.
I grant myself the gift of forgiveness of myself and others.
In doing so, I create a beautiful life!
