Trust your instincts and you just might meet….
October 28th, 2009
I have many days when I am simply drawn to something…never knowing what the reason is my intuition is taking me in such a direction. Today is one of those days. As I put a log on the fire earlier today my intention was to stay home, rest a bit and perhaps catch up on some work as my husband took my mother to the airport for her flight back to Florida. When he began to pack up the car I felt drawn to going with them, yet I had no idea why. I simply choose to follow my instinct.
The drive to the airport was uneventful until we pulled up to the departure area, then it happened. There was a man standing on the sidewalk talking to the limo driver that had just dropped him off. I looked at the man and couldn’t help but think I knew him, then it hit me…. he looks just like Emmitt Smith! For an instant I second guessed myself within my own mind, “no way, that can’t be him” I thought as my husband spoke aloud, “hey, that’s Emmitt Smith!” And with that my husband waved at him as he entered the airport and disappeared. We unloaded the car and as I helped my mom into the airport with her luggage I glanced around the crowd and to my pleasant surprise there he was again.
This time I walked over to him and he again smiled, for those who know who Emmitt Smith is, you know that smile will light up a room. He graciously signed an autograph, I thanked him and we were both on our way. As I rejoined my mom at the check-in counter I overheard the girl next to her saying “oh my goodness, you guys just missed Emmitt Smith!! He was just here checking in his bags!” I simply smiled thinking of the autograph in my bag and how my daughter would be grinning ear to ear when she see its after school today.
Guess I now know why I was drawn to riding to the airport today…trust your instinct… you never know where it will take you or who it will bring you in contact with unless you follow it.
**And yes ladies, he’s as good looking in person as he is in pictures!**

Great story! I remember when I was just starting to listen to my intuition. I practiced by asking if I should drive on the interstate or take surface roads (in Atlanta) and then arguing with myself! I would realize it, laugh at myself and then do what my intuition originally told me to do. It worked out so well, it amazed me sometimes.
Thanks for the reminder.

Congratulations Caryn on listening to your intuition! What a fun day! It’s something that I’m working on teaching my children by asking them, “What is your little voice telling you? Because that’s God talking to you,” and then letting them make the decisions.
Blessings…
