Uncovering Your Own True Magnificence
Like most women, I have endured some pretty rough times. As an ugly duckling child, I found myself surrounded by viciously mean “friends” whose cruel criticisms destroyed virtually every vestige of my self-esteem. Life at home became increasingly tense eventually pushing me to a complete disconnect from my parents. I am not blaming them completely; it was my fault as well. I just couldn’t communicate with them. Later, despite having evolved into a photogenic beauty and successful model, genuine relation
ships eluded me and heartache and self- loathing were my frequent companions. But in my late teens I had found a coping solution: Alcohol.
In my high school years having three Colt-45’s, a malted beer, would do the job nicely. All the pain and self- loathing would be lifted for a brief period. A braver, funnier me emerged form that light alcohol buzz. I suddenly was the life of the party. At an early age, I found my crutch that would support me for another twenty five years until it didn’t work anymore. Through those years, I continually sought validation from others, married another alcoholic and divorced him. However, I was always professionally at the top of my game and exceled at anything I attempted. It was my personal life that was a tragedy.
By my mid 40’s life seemed all but over. I was spiraling downward, hopelessly out of control. Then, a final heartbreak pushed me over the edge and I found myself looking death right in the eye. From the fires of that particular hell, my awakened consciousness, my Alpha Chick, emerged. I chose to shed my past and start living. Through a daily practice of prayer and meditation, I discovered five steps that showed me how I could transform my life. I read every book that I could get my hands on regarding personal power, self-esteem, setting goals and living with commitment.
I sometimes wonder how drastically different my life would have been if I did not become as dependent on alcohol as a teenager. What things would I have accomplished? I know I would have finished going to college. Who knows what I could have become. But I quickly pull myself back to the present moment and I realize my journey has been perfect just the way it is. It brought me to writing my book “Alpha Chick” and my mission to help other women recapture their power and live life as awakened and authentic divine beings. I am here to deliver this message of personal empowerment to as many women as I can reach. We were not put on this earth to suffer but to be happy magnificent self-loving women who bring joy to all those we share our lives with. The statistics for women that are silently suffering from a form of addiction or self-loathing are staggering.
Alpha Chick-Five Steps for Moving from Pain to Power is more than just a road to happiness, success, and fulfillment. It is a model for any woman who dreams of those things.
The first part of the book is my painfully honest story. Its purpose is to illustrate just how far off track I had been and to inspire you to be able to pick yourself up as I did, no matter how far off course your life has gone.
Inspiration, however, is rarely enough to carry you through. And that’s the importance of the second part of the book. It presents a practical plan for transforming pain to power and setts you firmly on the road to becoming an Alpha Chick. It grew out of my own recovery process and revealed itself during one of many daily meditations. The epiphany was that the plan had five steps. And it did not surprise me that the foundation letter of each step spelled out a single significant word:
Acceptance and Attitude
Identification and Intention
Thoughts
Healing and Helping
The brilliance of this program is not that it shows you how to become a Mal Duane Alpha Chick. Its genius is that it clearly guides you to becoming your own unique brand of Alpha Chick. It sets you on your own road to being the ideal you; the sizzling, empowered woman you are meant to be. When we can look within for our power, the true source of guidance we are born with will emerge. The fact is our power does not come from what we own, who we know or what we do. It is an internal energy that needs to be cultivated. As we release self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors, we are able to set new intentions for positive action steps. The process of personal transformation begins.
Alpha Chick shows you how to recapture self-love, faith, and hope. It provides all you need to create a new vision and to achieve your new, exceptional life filled with passion, purpose and power.
